On the race card Saturday night will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.
Last Saturday night, Chad Phelps beat the heavy hitters for a popular win in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds. Looking at the point standings, Fulton newcomer Rob Bellinger is tied atop the standings with veteran and former track champion Billy Decker.
High School student Ronnie Davis III showed the savvy of a driver with more years on the speedway than he has, as Davis came from deep in the field to grab his second Fulton victory in the SUNY Canton Sportsman. With his win he is tied in the points lead with 2012 track champion Jordan Bennett.
The NAPA Late Models impressed once again as the front of the field ran nose to tail and side by side virtually the entire 20 lap distance that saw Alan Fink grab the checkers. A look at the points sees week one winner Sean Beardsley with a four-point lead over Alan Fink with Dale Caswell just eight-points behind.
Defending E&V Energy Novice Sportsman champion Gary Hoppins grabbed his second straight win of the year. Former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle, gave Hoppins all he could handle finishing a close second.
In the Four Cylinder Stocks Eric Zirbel looked to be heading to a win, but a front flat with just two-laps to gave the lead and the win to track Champion Skip DeGroff.

Chad Phelps Puts It All Together Winning The Fulton Speedway Modified Feature

FULTON, NY - MAY 11, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - During the week Chad Phelps made a call to Billy Colton at Troyer looking for advice on car setup. That advice paid off as Phelps took the big 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win on Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway. On lap17, Phelps shot from third to the lead, and then outran Robbie Bellinger in the late stages for the popular win.
Other winners on WOLF 105.1 New Country night were, Ron Davis III, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Alan Fink, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Skip DeGroff, Four Cylinder Stocks and Jeff Isabell Jr., Mod Lites.
Dale Planck and Joe August Jr. brought the hungry Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature down to the green with Planck grabbing the top-spot in the 35 lap main.
On lap 5, Planck running the bottom held a slight lead over August who was running the top of the speedway. Within striking distance of the top-two was Jim Witko and Chad Phelps making it a good four-car battle at the front.
One lap later on lap 6, August, who didn't even know if he'd be back at the speedway after engine problems the week before powered by Planck to be scored the new leader. Between lap 6 and lap 8 August and Planck would swap the lead back and forth till August could open a few car length advantage.
With 10 laps showing on the scoring tower you could of almost thrown a blanket over August, Planck, Witko and Chris Hile as they used every inch of the speedway looking for any advantage.
The whole complexion of the race changed on the lap 17 when Chad Phelps found wicked bite on the bottom of the speedway blasting from third and into the lead.
A quick caution on lap 21 gave the field a chance to catch their breath after hot battles all over the speedway. The restart would line up Phelps, August, Chuck Bower, Planck, Hile, Witko, Billy Decker and Rob Bellinger.
With 10 laps to go Phelps held onto a four-car advantage over Bower while August, Hile and Bellinger were in a tight fight for third through fifth. Over the remaining laps Phelps looked to get quicker as he pulled away for the win by a half-a-straightaway over Bellinger. Hile, Dan Vauter who came on late and Billy Decker rounded out the top-five.
After Phelps pulled his Haun Welding Supply/ Midstate Tree Service/ Ashley Lynn Winery/ Troyer/ No.X in victory lane he talked about his win.
" It was unbelievable. I got to give hats off to Billy Colton (Troyer Race Cars), we were complete junk last week with this new car so we threw some stuff at it, let me tell you, it was way better than it was. I'm not like the professionals, sometimes we're second rate as I sometimes like to say. The track had a lot of bite and that helped. We have it pointed in the right direction and we were able to hold them off."
"I don't know how close those guys were, we had a decent starting spot that helped. You got to get that with these guys, it's such a tough group we run with every week. It feels good to get this out of the way. Hopefully we did the right thing and are now going in the right direction."
Chris Hile received the first American Racer Tire giveaway of the season for the Modifieds.
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature, Gregg Kimball would lead the opening laps. The fastest car on the track was that of Ronnie Davis III who would dog Kimball for a number of laps before he used an outside power move to grab the lead on lap 9. Once out front, and as the laps clicked off nobody had anything for Davis as he drove away for the win. Gregg Kimball held onto second, Fonda Speedway invader Rocky Warner grabbed third, Jordan Bennett over came heat race problems to finish fourth and Tony Finch II finished fifth.
Beth Schneider received the first American Racer Tire give away for the season in the Sportsman.
For the second week in a row the NAPA Late Models put on an impressive show at the front of the pack in their 20 lap feature. Alan Fink took the lead on lap 11 and then held off opening night winner Sean Beardsley, Dale Caswell, AJ Kingsley and Rick Miller at the finish.
Gary Hoppins picked up his second win in a row in the 15 lap E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature. The win was anything but easy for Hoppins as he had to hold off repeated challenges from former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle. Jeremy Dygert, Kyle Kiehn and Jacob Davis finished third through fifth.
Eric Zirbel looked to heading to the win in the 15 lap Four Cylinder Stock feature. With just two laps to go, Zirbel had a front flat ending his bid for the victory handing the lead over to Skip DeGroff, who went onto to his second win of the early season. Mark Johnston, Blake Fisher, Keith Zirbel and Justin Buske rounded out the top-five.
In the 20 lap Mod Lite feature, Joe Isabell and Jeff Isabell Jr. swapped the lead back and forth in the late going with Jeff Isabell Jr. picking up the win. What made the win impressive was Isabell started dead last after heat race problems. Joe Isabell, Doug Williams, Jeremy Isabell and Alan Fink finished second through fifth.
This coming Saturday night May 18th the Fulton Speedway will swing back into action with another exciting night of racing presented by Syracuse Haulers. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.

BREWERTON, NY - MAY 9, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - Racing and pets just seem to go together, it doesn't matter if you're a fan, driver, team owner, promoter or track owner. Just look around a race track, on peoples' Facebook pages and chances are you will see peoples' pets. They are more than just pets to us, they are family members.
Not all animals are so lucky as they are abandoned, given up for financial reasons and other very sad stories. That's why organizations like the Humane Association of CNY located in Liverpool, NY, play such a vital role in giving shelter, food and medical care but it comes with a cost. There are no big government grants to keep these places going, it's through fundraisers and the generosity of people like you.
The Brewerton and Fulton Speedways have seen the need and are proud to team with the Humane Society of CNY with two special nights. Brewerton Speedway will host the first night on Friday, May 17 with the Fulton Speedway hosting on Saturday June, 1st.
On the designated nights not only can you meet some of our fury friends prior to the night's racing, you can help in a variety of ways. They will be accepting monetary donations, gently used clean towels, blankets and comforters. There will also be a bin where you can give donations of canned cat and dog food. They suggest Friskies for cats and Pedigree for dogs as they try to stick to one brand as not to upset the animals' stomachs. There will also be gift baskets for raffle with racing themes inside, gift certificates from local restaurants and even pet themed gift baskets for raffle.
When it comes to a time of need there is no bigger family than the racing family. Let's get behind our four-legged friends and help give them a chance at a better and happy future.
Please visit http://thehumaneassociationofcny.org/ or call (315) 457-8762 to donate if you can't make it to the speedway or even to adopt a pet to make your home their happy home.
Any questions you might have about the new season please contact Cory Reed at (315) 668-6906 or cory@brewertonspeedway.com . Keep up with track updates throughout the season at www.brewertonspeedway.com and www.fultonspeedway.com, on each speedway’s Facebook accounts and on Twitter at twitter.com/Fultonspeedway and twitter.com/BrewertonSpdway

What a feature the NAPA Late Models put on for 20 laps. Sean Beardsley, Dale Caswell, Rick Miller and Alan Fink ran in a tight pack putting the winner in doubt till the checkers that saw Beardsley beat Caswell by a mere .006 of a second at the checkers.
Gary Hoppins started out the season with a victory in defense of his E&V Energy Novice Sportsman championship while Skip DeGroff did the same in the Four Cylinder Stocks.

Larry Wight Out Runs Teammate Billy Decker For Opening Night Fulton Speedway Modified Win

FULTON, NY - MAY 4,2013 - (By Dave Medler) -The Fulton Speedway opened the 2013 season with a flury . Larry Wight out ran teammate Billy Decker for a popular Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win, while two other features were decided with last a lap pass and a win by .006 of a second.
Other winners on Ferris Industries Night were, Jordan Bennett, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Sean Beardsley, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Skip Degroff, Four Cylinder Stocks.
Larry Wight and Tim Sears Jr. brought the field down to the green for the first Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature of the year, with Wight grabbing the early advantage.
On lap 3, Sears blasted around Wight using the top of the speedway. Sears lead was short lived as Wight was able to drive back by one lap later and was able to buildup a half a straightaway lead by lap 5.
With 10 laps showing on the lap counter, Wight was on rails bolting to a full straightaway advantage over Sears who ran alone in second. Behind the top-two, Chris Hile, Joe August Jr. and Matt Hulsizer raced for third through fifth.
On lap 15, Wight was like a man on mission showing more than a straightaway lead still running the outside. Sears, Hile, Billy Decker and August showed in the top-five just before August slowed and went pit-side with mechanical problems.
When the green came back out, Decker went from fourth to second in one move as he set his sights on the high flying Wight.
At the halfway point, Wight and Decker would run nose to tail and side by side on different points of the speedway as the pair took off from the rest of the field. Sears, Ryan Phelps and Robbie Bellinger showed in the top-five.
On lap 20, Wight was able to open a ten car length advantage over Decker as back markers loomed ahead that would play a part in the race.
With the scoring tower showing 10 laps remaining, Wight and Decker ran within two-three cars of each other on the top as the track was getting wider and wider. Phelps, Sears and Bellinger still fought for top-five positions.
Over the remaining laps Decker would throw everything he had at Wight, even taking the lead on the back straight in heavy traffic with 3 laps to go. Wight didn't flinch as he held his line and outdistance Decker to the checkers. Ryan Phelps, Robbie Bellinger and Tim Sears Jr. finished third through fifth.
Wight talked about his win after parking his Gypsum Express/Tracey Road Equipment/Stadium International Trucks/NAPA Auto Parts/Integra Racing Shocks/ LJLKevlar Racing Engines / No.99L/ Bicknell in victory lane.
" I knew we were good enough on the top that he wasn't going to get us. It was just the lapped traffic that was hurting us a little bit," Wight said when Billy Decker briefly got by him with 3 laps to go."Towards the end of the race we were starting to lose fuel pressure and it started stumbling on me, we were lucky to make it to the end."
"I thought the bottom might of been a little faster because the top was so far up. Timmer (Tim Sears) got by me, luckily he pushed the nose and I was able to get back by him. I knew we had a good enough car to hold everyone off."
Cornwall, Ontario invader Shane Pecore jumped out to the early lead in the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature over a stout opening day field.
On lap 5, Pecore opened a 10 car length advantage over the field as Jordan Bennett, Rocco Leone and Ron Davis III gave chase with Earl Rudy running fifth.
At the halfway point, Pecore still showed the way, but Bennett erased the lead Pecore built up as he now started reeling in the leader. Leone, Davis and Scott Ford showed in the top-five.
With 5 laps to go Pecore and Bennett ran nose to tail and side by side setting up a shootout to the checkers. Over the remaining laps, Pecore would run the bottom to the middle groove while Bennett ran the top of the speedway. Exiting turn-four coming down for the final lap, Bennett, the defending track champion was able to blast by Pecore to grab the lead and go onto the win over Pecore. Rocco Leone, Ron Davis III and Beth Schneider who came from deep in the pack finished third through fifth.
In the words of ESPN, "instant Classic." that's exactly what the 20 lap NAPA Late Model feature was. Dale Caswell, Sean Beardsley, Alan Fink and Rick Miller put on a battle royal as all four drivers ran in a tight pack the majority of the distance putting the winner in doubt till the checkers. On the final lap exiting turn four, Beardsley was able to draw even with leader Caswell setting up a drag race to the finish that saw Beardsley win by .006 of a second over Caswell. Alan Fink, Rick Miller and AJ Kingsley rounded out the top-five.
Defending track champion Gary Hoppins was able to grab the win in the 15 lap E&V Energy Novice Sportsman feature over former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle.
Skip DeGroff and Jerry Herbert battled nose to tail and side by side almost the entire Four Cylinder Stock 15 lap feature. At the checkers DeGroff, the defending track champion picked up the narrow win over Herbert. Mark Johnston, Keith Zirbel and Colby Herzog rounded out the top-five.
This coming Saturday, May 11th 105.1 The WOLF/WOSW 1300 presents the popular Girl Scouts Night. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Four Cylinder Stocks and Mod Lites.

Highly Anticipated Fulton Speedway Season Opener This Saturday May 4

FULTON, NY - APRIL 30, 2013(By Dave Medler) - The long off season since the Outlaw 200 weekend last October is finally over. This Saturday night May 4th the Fulton Speedway will swing the gates open on the new season presented by Ferris Industries.
On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and the Four-Cylinder Stocks. Just announced, the Brewerton Speedway Four Cylinder Super Stocks will be permitted to run weekly. Four Cylinder Stocks will be allowed to run the Brewerton Four Cylinder Super Stock tires if they so choose. 2012 Track Champions will be crowned on the front straightaway.
Last season 12 different drivers grabbed wins in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds with Billy Decker picking up the track championship. With that many winners it showed you better bring your "A-Game" every Saturday night on the "High Banks."
Not to be outdone, the SUNY Canton Sportsman showed 10 different drivers gracing victory lane. In the final standings Jordan Bennett outdistanced veteran Jim Spano for his first ever championship. With the quality of the weekly field you never know who's going to find victory lane.
With Larry Wight and Tim Sears Jr. concentrating on their Modified efforts, this will leave the NAPA Late Models wide- open for the 2013 season. With talented drivers like Rick Miller, Dale Caswell, Sean Beardsley, Alan Fink, Rob Mason, AJ Kingsley and others, this should be the most competitive season to date for the division.
The ever changing field of cars in the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman gives new drivers the chance to get experience in the open wheel division before moving up to the SUNY Canton Sportsman.
Last season one of the strongest supporters of the Four Cylinder Stocks, Skip DeGroff won his first ever championship. This season will see a wide-open battle with the above mentioned Brewerton Four Cylinder Super Stocks joining the weekly field.
The Fulton Speedway is proud to welcome back one of their strongest supporters, Ferris Industries.
Ferris Industries, the commercial mower specialists, have earned their reputation by delivering their customers high quality products and solutions for over 100 years.
Patriot Sprint Group Ready To Melt Away Winter At The Fulton Speedway Saturday April 13th; Test And Tune Cancelled

FULTON, NY – MARCH 29, 2013 (By Dave Medler) – Due the stubbornness of the last blast of winter from mother nature that has made drying conditions tough in Oswego county, the April 6 Test Tune at the Fulton Speedway has been cancelled. The season opener will see all systems go to kick off the 2013 season.
The fire breathing, methanol burning Sprint cars are ready to burn away and kick out the remains of winter and the long off-season. On Saturday, April 13 the Patriot Sprint Tour and A-Verdi Storage Containers presents the “Methanol Melt Down” as the high flying winged warriors invade the Route 57 oval.
The action doesn’t stop with the Sprint Cars as the always exciting SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models and Mod Lites will be vying for qualifying spots for the Outlaw 200 weekend.
At the 2012 Methanol Meltdown Steve Poirier outran over 40 of the best 360 Sprint Car drivers in the Northeast. Look for a strong car count once again with the event being the first 360 race in the region. In the SUNY Canton Sportsman and NAPA Late Models Tim Sears Jr. won both features. Look for different winners on the 13th as Sears is concentrating his efforts with his Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified in 2013.
SUNY Canton Sportsman teams, even though this carries a guaranteed spot for the October 4-5 Industrial Tire Of CNY Sportsman Shootout on Outlaw 200 weekend, it's not part of the five-race shootout Series that puts qualified drivers in a top-twelve redraw spot. The Fulton Speedway shootout series event will be Wednesday night, July 17 when Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne compete against the UNOH All-Star Sprints presented by Tracey Road Equipment.
Tracey Road Equipment and Four-Cylinder Stock teams, with the Test & Tune canceled on the 6th you are invited to come practice on April 13.

Gates will open on Saturday, April 13 at 5:00 with racing to start at 7:00.
The full points season will start Saturday, May 4 with the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four-Cylinder Stocks.
It’s not too late to get your season passes for what will be another exciting race season at both the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways. Please contact Cory Reed at (315) 638-4056 or by e-mail at cory@brewertonspeedway.com for all your questions.

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL AMERICAN RACER CUP EXPANDS TO INCLUDE NORTHEAST SPORTSMAN TEAMS. TRACKS TO SEE THEIR TEAMS COMPETING FOR OVERALL NORTHEAST TITLE.

SYRACUSE,NY - MARCH 10, 2013 - The highly successful American Racer Cup for northeast Modifieds will expand for 2013 to cover a number of facilities that host Sportsman events as well. The Sportsman teams will compete in an identical point distribution model as the Modified teams currently do with $30,000 in cash and product up for grabs in the program.

Lias Tire, American Racer and the Race of Champions groups have once again teamed up to bring this program to life. Fred Woodward from Lias Tire commented on the addition of the Sportsman teams to the program, “We wanted to show our commitment to the Sportsman teams that are also a big part of our northeast program.” Race of Champions owner Andrew Harpell remarked, “We are excited to be part of the existing program and to include the Sportsman teams is simply outstanding.” “Many of these Sportsman teams will be the future of the Modified division and someday competing for that overall American Racer Cup Title as well.”

The American Racer Cup for Sportsman will model itself after the current program for the Modifieds. Teams will be ranked at their home weekly track against other northeast drivers running at their weekly venue. A driver’s top 12 best finishes will count toward the overall title and the overall rankings will also be based on a track’s average weekly starting field. This will help to help determine who is the best northeast Sportsman driver for 2013.

Each participating speedway will hold 15 random drawings among their participating drivers throughout the season. Each name drawn will earn an American Racer product certificate worth $85 toward the purchase of a tire at their weekly speedway. In addition the overall Sportsman American Racer Cup Champion will earn a $1,000 for the title. Should that driver also win the Race of Champions Dirt Sportsman Tour Championship they will earn a $1,000 bonus. The top five in the overall American Racer Cup Championship will all earn cash awards as follows: $1,000 for first, $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth and $250 for fifth. Teams are simply required to purchase a $30 membership to be eligible for the program and only need to compete at their weekly track to be ranked. The commitment of $30,000 by Lias Tire and American Racer is up for grabs for teams without ever having to leave their weekly track. So for the teams, their only expense is a one-time membership.

For more information please log on to www.dirtmodcup.com or phone the Race of Champions (program managing partner) at 607-775-5555. You may also reach Lias Tire directly at 800-638-7028.
2013 AMERICAN RACER CUP SPORTSMAN CUP

On the heels of the successful American Racer East Coast Modified Cup over the past three seasons, Lias Tire, American Racer and the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour are pleased to announce the expansion of the American Racer Cup into the Modified Sportsman tracks using American Racer tires for 2013! We look forward to providing a program for the Sportsman teams at your track that will rank them against other Modified Sportsman teams throughout the Northeast, and just like the American Racer Modified Cup, teams will benefit from the program simply by registering for the program and doing what they do every weekend during the summer, race at their local track!

2013 MINIMUM POINT FUND
At this point, we are putting together a minimum of $30,000 in cash and product awards up for grabs by American Racer, Lias Tire and the RoC for the 2013 American Racer Sportsman Cup. We are currently in talks with additional marketing partners, and we anticipate additional partners for the upcoming season. Any announcements of additional partners will be announced on the Cup’s website and facebook pages as they happen.

Thus far, the following minimum point fund has been established:

HOME TRACK AWARDS
Each participating team will be eligible for American Racer Tire rewards given away on a weekly basis from Memorial Day through Labor Day at each track! Each week following the Sportsman feature, the winning driver will draw a name from the American Racer Cup in victory lane. The winner of the drawing will be awarded a certificate good for $85 towards the regular price of an American Racer Modified tire, redeemable only through your home track tire dealer. Only registered members of the American Racer Sportsman Cup will be eligible for the random tire giveaways. There will be a total of 15 giveaways held at EACH TRACK!!!

The American Racer Sportsman Cup champion at each track will receive 4 American Racers!

OVERALL POINT FUND
As stated above, we are working to sign on additional partners to supply additional monies and product sponsorship toward the overall point fund. As of now, the plan is to pay cash to the Top Five Overall Finishers this season as follows:
1st - $1,000 2nd - $500 3rd - $400 4th - $300 5th - $250

RACE OF CHAMPIONS SPORTSMAN BONUS
Like the American Racer ECM Cup, there will also be a Race of Champions Sportsman Champions Bonus if one driver manages to win both the RoC Sportsman and the Overall American Racer Sportsman Cup championships this season! If a driver is able to accomplish this feat, their team will be rewarded with an additional $1,000! The American Racer Sportsman Cup Overall champion will be chosen from all of the registered teams at the participating tracks at the conclusion of the American Racer Cup season on Labor Day weekend.

AMERICAN RACER SPORTSMAN CUP POINT SYSYTEM & IMPORTANT DATES
The American Racer Sportsman Modified Cup will rank drivers throughout the northeast, on paper, which runs at tracks where the American Racer Tire is the exclusive tire for the Sportsman or Crate Sportsman divisions. This program is based upon Home Track Points that will be earned using the system below from Mid-April through Labor Day weekend. Of the finishes in that time period a driver will be ranked based upon his/her twelve (12) best finishes. In order to qualify for the American Racer Sportsman Cup a team simply needs to register at their local track or through the website at www.dirtmodcup.com. There is a downloadable form available there that can be printed and sent via mail. The registration deadline for the American Racer Cup is May 13, 2013. All forms must be turned into your dealer or postmarked by that date. No entries will be accepted after the enrollment period.

The American Racer Sportsman Cup Season will run from April 12 through September 2, 2013. No finishes in races that occur outside this time period are eligible to be counted toward a teams Racer Cup points.

BREWERTON, NY - MARCH 7, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - Thanks to Dennis Beaudette and Industrial Tire of CNY, the SUNY Canton Sportsman will compete for the richest sportsman purse ever at the Fulton Speedway . In celebration of his 10th year in business, Beaudette is adding $10,000 in sportsman
purses and awards to the already lucrative October 4th and 5th Outlaw 200 Weekend Sportsman Shootout. Through his support, the Shootout will pay $2,500 to win, $1,500 for second and $1,000 for third in addition to top-three heat bonuses.
To be eligible for added purse, drivers must have attempted to qualify at least once at both Brewerton and Fulton during the 2013 season, and drivers will have plenty of opportunities to do so.
The Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout qualifying series will include the four summer Sportsman shows at Brewerton Speedway and the July 17th Sportsman event on the same card as the All-Star 410 Sprint Car Series at Fulton Speedway. That event promises to be extra-huge, as both Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart will be competing in their sprint cars that night. Not only will each qualifying event pay $1,000 to win, but,the race winner (or next in line) will automatically be in the redraw for the Industrial Tire Outlaw 50, joining the heat winners, and will start no worse than 12th in the 50-lap grind. A sixth and final guaranteed redraw spot will be awarded to the highest point earner in the five Industrial Tire Sportsman Shootout qualifying events.
In addition to the added purse money, the Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout will now be a part of both days of the October 4 and 5 Outlaw Weekend. Teams will be put through a pre-event inspection on Friday afternoon and evening, with 10-lap qualifying events to be held on Friday. Twelve-lap Last Chance Qualifying events will be held on Saturday, to complete the 30 car starting field for the 50-lap Shootout that will be held just prior to the lucrative Outlaw 200.

KING FERRY, NY - February 5, 2013 - Hilary Ward, driver of the #45 dirt sportsman out of King Ferry, NY attended her first weekend at Race 101, a prestigious racing school out of Denver, NC this past weekend. Ward hopes this program will make her a more well rounded driver through lessons of technical set-up and public relations.
Race 101 focuses on working with young drivers (ages 12-28) from the US and Canada who battled through an extensive application process. The program lasts for one year, with proven teaching and coaching methods that give classroom time, hands on experience, and even track time in an asphalt late model at the legendary Hickory Motor Speedway.
“Advancing my racing career is extremely important to me. I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am and don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Race 101 is only going to help what is already looking to be a huge season for me” says Ward.
This season is bound to be a breakout year as Ward embarks on her second driving season in the E&V Energy Novice sportsman class at Fulton Speedway. With the experience she got in her rookie year, some newer equipment on board, and the knowledge from Race 101 teachings, she is sure to be someone to keep an eye on in 2013.
Catch up with Hilary and get all her updates at www.wardmotorsports.org or www.facebook.com/WardMotorsports

NAPA Late Models return for fourth season at Fulton Speedway

BALDWINSVILLE, NY (January 24, 2013) – The NAPA Late Model class will continue to be an integral part of the weekly racing program at Fulton Speedway in 2013, the fourth consecutive season the GM crate powered Late Models have competed at the high banks. After a slow start in 2012, the fields picked up and the NAPA Late Models staged some outstanding feature events throughout the year.
Defending high point man and Outlaw 200 Weekend LM Championship winner Larry Wight, and 2011 track point king Tim Sears, Jr. had eleven feature triumphs between them last season, but neither will be in contention to repeat at the top of the heap. Both Wight and Sears plan to concentrate on their Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified efforts weekly, and will likely make just limited starts in the LM Class. Dale Caswell, the 2010 track champion, does plan a return to the high banks in 2013 in hopes of reclaiming the track title, and all indications are a solid field of NAPA Late Models will be ready to go when the season gets underway in April.
The NAPA Late Models are governed by a Fulton speedway technical rules package that is now posted on www.fultonspeedway.com. The rules are the same as has governed the class since its 2009 inception, based primarily on Fastrak, and remain unchanged from 2012. The same SDLM American Racer will be the required tire again in 2013.
New for 2013, a Fulton Speedway track membership will be required for all competing drivers in all classes. The license will permit drivers to compete at the track and will include discounted pit admission and a significantly increased medical insurance benefit for all licensed members. Details on the track membership can be found on www.fultonspeedway.com.
The NAPA Late Models will help kick off the 2013 Fulton Speedway season as part of the Saturday, April 13th, Methanol Meltdown featuring the Patriot Sprint Tour and SUNY Canton Sportsman and Mod Lites. The regular season lid-lifter opens the curtain on the 2013 points season a few weeks after the Methanol Meltdown on Saturday, May 4th.

Johnny Hill Coming With Power This Season At The Brewerton And Fulton Speedways

HASTINGS, NY - January 15, 2013 - Anyone who has watched Johnny Hill race from his two Brewerton Speedway IMCA Modified Championships, in the Modifieds and as recently as last season in the Late Models knows the talent behind the wheel has always been there for the Hastings, NY driver.
When it came to the big block modifieds one thing that always lacked for Hill was power under the hood. All that will change in the 2013 racing season as Hill and Skip Weigand of Skip's Pit Stop and Skip's Performance Race Engines have teamed up for an all-out assault at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds division.
"Now that my commercial engine business is established and very solid, it's time to get back to what I love and that's building race engines," Weigand said.
Weigand has hired Tony Spensieri who has years of precision race engine building experience and with the purchase of a new CNC machine they will be able to provide the local racer with every stage of engine building from simple machining to complete performance engines.
Hill couldn't be happier and has the best outlook he has had in the Modified class. "Since entering the big block division I have been under powered by at least 200hp. Now with this huge opportunity I couldn't be more stoked to finally have competitive horsepower .
Skips Pit Stop and Skips Performance Race Engines are located at 212 Ball Road, Hastings, NY (315) 668-3088. Or you can check out his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Skips-Pit-Stop/179005052241461?ref=ts&fref=ts to see all he has to offer for all your commercial and racing needs.
