Event Format change for Beaver River Distribution Mod-Lites at Brewerton Speedway

A large field of cars with several of them driven by rookies or drivers with limited experience has prompted Brewerton Speedway management to implement a change in race procedure for the Beaver River Distribution ESDCA Mod Lite class effective with the April 22 race program.

The class will continue to run qualifying heat races on a weekly basis with the number of heats based on the size of the field. Approximately twenty cars will qualify for the feature event through heat races. A ten-lap B-Main will then be run, with a designated amount of qualifiers coming out of each to reach a 24 car starting field.

“It’s a good problem to have when the field is so strong, but it’s also pretty diverse this year with varying experience levels,” said track Promoter Harvey Fink, “With this format, we feel we can help the less experienced drivers gain more effective seat-time and have a cleaner race program.”

After a blockbuster season-opener last Friday, Brewerton Speedway returns to action this Friday with “Junior Fan Club Night” featuring a full card featuring Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, NAPA Late Models, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Metalico Aluminum Recovery Four Cylinder Superstocks and the Beaver River Mod Lites.

The Mod Lite class will also be a regular fixture at Fulton Speedway in 2011 scheduled to compete on the Highbanks nearly every week.
