Track Points Come to a Close this Saturday, September 4th

FULTON, NY…The 2010 point season in all five weekly divisions will come to a close at Fulton Speedway this Saturday, September 4. In race competition will be the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton DIRTcar Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, Gladiators and the Doug Cooper ESDCA Mod Lite Memorial. Everyone ages 18 and under will be admitted for free. Race time is set for 7 p.m.

Rivals Jimmy Phelps and Matt Sheppard will battle it out one more time to determine the 2010 Fulton Speedway DIRTcar Big Block Modified Track Championship. Phelps currently leads Sheppard by 18 points in the standings with both drivers winning three main events this season. Pat Ward, Billy Decker, Dale Planck, Ryan Phelps, Alan Johnson, Tom Sears, Michael Storms, Jim Witko, Chuck Bower, Larry Wight, Mike Bowman, Willy Decker and Chris Hile complete the top 15 in the rankings in the most talented field in DIRTcar Big Block racing.

Jeremy Pitcher appears headed to the 2010 Fulton Speedway SUNY Canton DIRTcar Sportsman Track Championship. Defending Track Champion Tim Sears Jr. is still in contention, however, only 24 points behind Pitcher. Tim Devendorf is in control of the NAPA Late Model standings, but Gus Schmidt and Dale Caswell are still in the hunt for the season title.

Matt Emmons is the current leader in the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman class with Scott Kline and Justin Thompson still in title contention. Keith Zirbel is at the top of the Gladiator rankings with Skip DeGroff, Eric Zirbel and Mark Johnston still entertaining title hopes of their own. The ESDCA Mod Lite class will compete in the Doug Cooper Memorial event this Saturday night.

Fulton Speedway gates on Saturday, September 4 will open at 5 p.m. race competition will start promptly at 7 p.m. Adult admission is only $12 with everyone ages 18 and under admitted for free. For more information please call (315) 593-6531 with the race line reached at 668-RACE.
