FULTON, NY - September 28, 2012 (By Dave Medler) - Mother nature threw her best punch at night one of the 27th Annual Sunoco Fulton Ethanol Facility Outlaw 200 Weekend presented By SUNY Canton. Thanks to the perseverance of the Fulton Speedway track crew and all of the competitors the track was brought into racing condition. Two of the features were able to be run on the original schedule while the IMCA Modified and Mod Lite features were moved to Saturday.

In the Industrial Tire Of CNY Sportsman Outlaw 200 Weekend Championship, 2012 Track Champion Jordan Bennett put an exclamation point on his season as he  outran stout  field of 66 competitors taking the top $1,500 winner's share. Larry Wight, the Fulton Speedway NAPA Late Model Champion like Jordan Bennett capped off his Championship season with a big win in the NAPA Late Model Championship.

On Saturday, Brewerton Speedway regular Kevan Cook was able to bring home the win in the IMCA Modified NYS Championship Series, while Jeff Isabell Jr. took top honors in the Doug Cooper Memorial.

Ron Davis III and Bailey groves led the 30 car field down to the green that saw Groves take the early lead in the 50 lap Industrial Tire Of CNY SUNY Canton Sports Outlaw Championship.

While Groves was out front, 2012 track champion Jordan Bennett worked his way forward from his 5th starting spot to second place right at the drop of the green.

After a quick yellow, Bennett took advantage of starting outside when the green came back out as he drove around Groves into the lead on lap 5.

By lap 10, Bennett opened a half a straightaway lead on Tom Juhl. Behind the top-two, Davis, Spano and Groves raced for third through fifth.

With 20 laps showing, Bennett still led as Juhl was able to pull within a couple car lengths of the leader. Jim Spano, Davis, Kyle Fink and Katelyn Kane were in a tight fight for third through sixth.

At the halfway point, lap 25, Bennett, Juhl and Spano were in a three-car breakaway at the front of the field as Fink and Kane ran a distant fourth and fifth just before a quick yellow.

With 15 laps to go, Bennett was still setting a quick pace out front as he started catching back markers, that allowed Juhl and Spano  a chance to close the gap.

on lap 40 Bennett was in two-three wide traffic he was trying to put cars a lap down as Juhl closed in. One lap later, lap 41 the yellow would fly sending all the traffic ahead of Bennett to the tail of the of the field.

When the green came back out, Juhl could hang with Bennett for a couple laps, but Bennett was to strong as he capped off his championship season with an Outlaw 200 weekend victory. Tommy Juhl, Jim Spano and Katelyn Kane chased the Bennett across the line.

A.J. Kingsley and Dale Caswell set the pace as 20 cars started the 20 lap NAPA Late Model Championship. Kingsley would lead the opening  5laps till 2012 track champion Larry Wight took the lead on lap 6 after a restart.

The red flag would fly on lap 9 when all heck broke loose on the front straightaway. Art Halliday got the worst of it when he car went tumbling landing hard on his roof. Halliday was able to luckily get out of his car uninjured.

Once the race restarted it was a battle between Wight and Alan Fink at the front of the field that saw Wight pick up the victory by 0.456 of a second over Fink. Dale Caswell, Charlie Sandercock and A.J. Kingsley finished third through fifth.

On Saturday the IMCA Modified NYS Championship series feature hit the speedway. Throughout the entire distance there was a great battle between Matt Roberts, Brewerton Speedway Champion, Ryan Scott , Kevan Cook and Chris Fleming who all had a shot at the win.

With 5 laps to go in the 25 lap feature Kevan Cook was able to get around Scott to pick up the series win.  Matt Roberts was able to also get by Scott to finish second with Ryan Scott third, Ed Sites and Jerry Lobdell rounded out the top-five.

In the 36 lap Doug Cooper Memorial for the Mod Lites, Jeff Isabell Jr. continued his breakout season picking up the big win. Isabell led the opening lap before losing the lead to 7 time 2012 Brewerton Speedway feature winner Tim Devendorf.  On lap 3 Isabell dug down on the bottom of the speedway taking the lead back on lap 3.

Alan Fink would challenge Isabell late in the going, but Isabell was to strong as he was first under the checkers by 0.805 of a second at the finish. Steve Miller, Rick Demo and Nick Graziano finished third through fifth.
