Fulton Speedway Ready To Unleash The Speed This Saturday July, 12 On Safety-Kleen Night; Special 6:45 Start Time This Week
FULTON, NY – July 9, 2014 (By Dave Medler) – This Saturday July 12th the Fulton Speedway is ready to crank up the racing intensity at the Route 57 Speed plant just south of the city.
On the exciting race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds/SUNY Canton Sportsman/NAPA Late Models/E&V Energy Novice Sportsman/A-Verdi Storage Containers 305 Sprints/Hilton’s Automotive Four Cylinders and Pro Race Cars Mod Lites. The Mod Lite 8th and 11th place finishers will get a $50 NAPA gift card and a guaranteed spot for the August 8th Dig Safely 811 Pro Race Cars Mod Lite Invitational at the Brewerton Speedway.
What a race the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds put on last Saturday. Chris Hile, Tom Sears and Tim Sears Jr. put on a three-car battle royal at the front of the field. Tom Sears looked to be the fastest car on the speedway till he had racing contact with Hile. After the contact with Hile, Sears’ didn’t seem the same as he dropped back after the contact. Tim Sears Jr. was able to wrestle the lead away from Hile on lap-29 and then went onto the 35-lap victory. Here is a look at the top-five in the points coming into Saturday. Larry Wight (398) – Jimmy Phelps (374) – Billy Decker (358) – Rob Bellinger (356) – Pat Ward (342).
Once again the SUNY Canton Sportsman are not only putting on great racing but fields have been big enough to run a consi. Looking at the point standings, 51 drivers have attempted to qualify this season. On the race track recent high school graduate Ron Davis III picked up the feature win over another recent graduate Brandon Ford. The point battle is outstanding coming into this week’s racing. Mike Button (374) – Beth Schneider (368) – Tony Finch II (364) – Ron Davis III (363) – Jeremy Pitcher (342).
AJ Kingsley took the win in the NAPA Late Models leading every lap. The win was anything but easy as he had to hold off point leader and top feature winning driver Tim Sears Jr. for his third win of the season. Sears leads the point standings heading into Saturday. Tim Sears Jr. (464) – AJ Kingsley (424) – Rick Miller (410) – Brandon Ford (344) – Alan Fink (316).
The concept of the E&V Energy Novice Sportsman was to give new drivers a class to learn and get experience. After three feature wins a driver has to move up into the SUNY Canton Sportsman. For the second time this season the three-win rule was achieved. Earlier this season Wade Chrisman hit that win total. Last Saturday Rookie Brenton Joy hit the three win mark.
